Owakudani

Owakudani is the most popular place among other tourist spots in Hakone. It is a valley at 1,000 meters above sea level which has belching steam from the crevices that were created by the latest volcanic activity. The famous local delicacy here is the kuro tamago (black egg) which is cooked by using the gas gushing out in Owakudani. You might be surprised to see it because it's inky black but tastes excellent. You can enjoy the spectacular view of the scenery with Mt. Fuji in the background because of its high altitude.
