Harunire Terrace is a tiny town made inside a grove of over 100 harunire (Japanese elm) trees. It is comprised of 15 unique and stylish shops and restaurants with the concept of Karuizawa's daily life. They are all great shops so you will surely find your favorite.

Karuizawa Wild Bird Forest is located between 950 and 1100 meters elevation and has a large area of about 100 hectares. There is an approximately 3 km long trail, which is free to explore for anyone. Around 80 kinds of wild birds as well as wild animals live here, so it is an ideal place to enjoy bird watching and observing wildlife.

Karuizawa Kogen Church is a historic church, which originated from the "Liberal Education of Arts Lectures" where many cultural figures and authors gathered during the 1920s. The original mentality of when the church was first founded is still passed on today, and there are various events held every week Sunday from 13:30, such as a gospel mass or summer candle nights in which everyone can participate.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Karuizawa exhibits mainly pieces by world famous and highly praised Japanese artists like Kusama Yayoi, Nara Yoshitomo, Arakawa Shusaku and Rokkaku Ayako. Taking pictures is allowed in this museum as long as there is a person included, so you can try taking your favorite shot.

Hoshino Onsen, opened in 1915, is said to have smooth and soft water that has beauty effects on the skin. At Tombo no Yu, there is a liberating outdoor bath and an indoor bath as well as attractive seasonal changes such as apple baths in autumn and yuzu (Japanese citrus fruit) baths in winter.
