Matsuyama-jo's Dai-tenshu (large castle tower) is the only one of the existing 12 castle towers in Japan that has the family crest of the lord on its roof tiles. It displays the valuable armor of the first lord and other documents and objects. Many of the Matsuyama Castle's stone walls are large and splendid. Especially the castle keep's wall is 14 meters high and magnificent. Nobori-ishigaki, a stone wall connecting the keep and the building on the castle foot, is one of only two existing "Nobori-ishigaki" in Japan. The part that has the keep is in a fan-like form and beautifully finished.
