At Matsukawa Onsen, you can enjoy soaking in an onsen in nature. Three onsen inns are available in this onsen town. Each of them has a hot spring in the premises. You can see Japan’s first geothermal power station from the open-air bath of Kyounso in the distance and relax in the milky white water by completely stretching your legs and arms. In addition, you can enjoy seasonal scenic views of Hachimantai such as new leaves of the primeval forest in summer and snow in winter while relaxing in the onsen.
