Makinohara Daichaen

It is considered as the biggest tea plantation fields in East Asia. The massive green field has become a landmark of Shizuoka. Since the tea plantation field is situated on the Makinohara highland, you can see the tallest mountain in Japan, Mount Fuji, in the distance. On top of that, there is Ochanosato Museum where you can learn all about the history of Japanese green tea and tea of the world. You can also taste tea and learn about Japanese traditional tea ceremony as well. Not to mention, there is a restaurant with a great view and a corner where you can purchase souvenir gifts of Shizuoka.

Biggest tea plantation in East Asia

Measuring 5,000 ha, this massive tea field is the biggest in Japan and said to be the biggest in East Asia. The tea leaves cultivated here have a wonderful smell and rich taste. It is called "Yabukita cha" tea. Makinohara Park is located inside the field, from which you can get a great view.

You can also learn about the effectiveness of tea, as well as taste it. On top of that, you can observe the extraction process of tea.
