In the park, many historical remains can be seen including the most famous place in Kokyo Gaien, Nijubashi (bridge), the only Fushimi-yagura in Japan that has a unique structure and was a symbol of Edo Castle in that period.
Wadakura Funsui Park, that was built to commemorate the marriage of the reigning emperor, features a big fountain and water monument. There is also a restaurant in the park, so you can have a relaxing time. At night, it is gorgeously illuminated.
Kokyo Higashi Gyoen, next to Kokyo Gaien, is where the honmaru (the main building of the castle) used to be located and currently, you can climb up the remains of Tenshu. The beauty of the Japanese garden is also popular. It’s open from 9:00 to 16:00 (closing time depends on the season).
