Cafe Ao

(Source : 食べログ)
The old town is a popular tourist spot in the city of Takayama, known as small Kyoto in Hida, where many ancient buildings still stand. In this old town, there is a chic Japanese-style café called "café Ao" inside the long-standing sake cellar, "Oita shuzo". The building of this café used to be a 140-year-old merchant shop. Inside this Japanese-style chic café, you can enjoy amazing sweets made of local products and Japanese sake made in "Oita shuzo" called "Oni koroshi". On top of that, you can also purchase stylish Japanese-style items for gifts. I recommend you to pass by if only to see some gifts.
