Hidahanga cafe Baren

There are many ancient merchant houses in the old town of the city of Takayama, which is chosen as Japan's important preservation district of historic buildings. As a result, it is a popular tourist spot where you can buy snacks and shop in the place where you feel like being in the Edo period. "Hidahanga café Baren" is a long-standing café, situated in this tourist area, in an ancient folk house built approx. 180 years ago. In this historical-looking café, various engraving paintings by local artists are displayed. As a result, you can relax and rest while enjoying the artworks.

It goes perfectly with Anmitsu!

I would like to recommend you to try "Macha" (630 yen). "Macha" tea with great smell and elegantly bitter taste goes perfectly with the very popular dessert "Anmitsu"! You can also choose a set menu with the special tea confectionery of Hida region, called "Kataribe".
