The good location which is a 5-minute walk from JR Asahikawa Station is one of the appeals of Asahikawa Ramen Aoba. This ramen place was opened in 1947. This place is known as the birthplace of Asahikawa ramen, which is the popular local dish as one of the three major ramen of Asahikawa, and loved by not only local people but also tourists. The “double soup” which blends mountain foods such as pork and chicken bones and seafood including dried boiled horse mackerel, dried bonito and sea cabbage produced in Rishiri has a light yet rich taste. The soup has been passed on for more than half a century and three generations.

Traditional soup made carefully

Since Asahikawa was an extremely cold area with temperatures near -30℃ in winter when the store opened, the first owner tried hard to make a tasty ramen without it getting cold. And what the owner created was the traditional soup that has been passed on until today! The oily soup creates a film on the surface, so you can enjoy hot ramen for a significantly long time.
