Okazaki Park

Okazaki Park is located in Aichi, where about 1,000 cherry blossom trees bloom every spring. Okazaki Castle towering over the park is famous as the birthplace of Ieyasu Tokugawa, the founder of the Tokugawa dynasty that had governed the country for about 260 years, and is one of the most popular sightseeing spots. A relaxing spot blessed with an abundance of nature, various trees including cherry blossoms can be seen throughout the park. You must see Okazaki Sakura Festival that takes place during the cherry blossoms period too. Of special interest is the Ieyasu Procession that reproduces the scene of characters departing for war and about 800 participants in samurai costumes with gorgeous armor will parade through the town. You can also see performances of matchlock gun firing at the festival. This breathtaking event will surely impress you.
