Netsu no Yu
Situated in front of Yubatake in Kusatsu Onsen hot springs, Netsu no Yu is a tourist facility that offers a performance of Yumomi and dance show. Yumomi is a traditional method of lowering the temperature of hot spring water without adding cool water. The hot water is cooled down to a certain temperature that is suitable for bathing. Yumomi musume or stirring ladies in traditional costumes sing Kusatsu Bushi (traditional song of Kusatsu) and stir the hot water rhythmically with a 1.8 m board. Renovated to Taisho Roman Style
Many buildings have been renovated in the Yubatake area. Netsu no Yu was remodeled based on a Taisho Roman style in the spring of 2015. On the outside, gas lights have been placed to suit this style. Lumber is abundantly used in the interior and gives off the aroma of wood.
Yubatake is a spring source of Kusatsu Onsen which is considered as one of Japan's three most famous hot springs. It is also a symbol of Kusatsu Onsen. It is situated in the center of the hot spring resort and yields 4,000 liters of hot water per minute. The water is very hot and creates steam constantly.
