Mt. Haruna's Symbol: Haruna Fuji
Mt. Haruna's symbol Haruna Fuji can be reached all the way to the top by a ropeway. From the top, you can see Gunma's other famous mountain Mt. Akagi on the east, and on a clear day, you can see Mt. Fuji and Tokyo Skytree on the southeast side.

Lake Haruna Formed by a Volcanic Eruption
Lake Haruna, a caldera lake formed by the eruption of Mt. Haruna, is a beautiful place where azalea bloom during spring and autumn leaves take on a beautiful color during autumn. From April through November, there are cruises and paddle boats to explore the lake surface, and from late January to late February, when the surface freezes, you can do ice fishing for wakasagi (surf smelt).

Lilies Decorate Mt. Haruna in Summer
Yellow lilies have been blooming on Mt. Haruna since ancient times. It is a short-lived flower that blooms one afternoon before sunset and fades already by the next morning, but a certain strength can be seen in the way they live in large colonies. The best time to view is from mid-July to mid-August along the "lily road" Yuusuge no Michi.

Summer Event at Mt. Haruna: Haruna Festival Fireworks
At the Haruna Festival Fireworks held every year in August, 3,000 shots of over-water fireworks and rocket fireworks decorate the surface of Lake Haruna. Before the fireworks, lanterns are floated on the lake, for which you can participate on the same day. Make a wish and release a lantern onto the lake.
