Kappabashi Dougu Street is a shopping street situated between Ueno station and Asakusa. This street is known as "the best place to find kitchen implements in Japan." In fact, there are 170 stores on a 800 m long shopping street, all of which sell kitchen implements and equipment. On top of that, people admire the nostalgic appearance of this street, which looks like one from the Showa era. There is a wide range of kitchen implements for personal use as well as for professional use. Therefore, many tourists come here to buy Japanese products.

There is a big sculpture of a cook on top of the five-story building. In fact, it is where Kappabashi Dougu Street starts. Take a picture of this sculpture before you enter the street.

Nishiyama Shikki is a lacquerware store that seems like it belongs to another era. This well-established store was founded about 100 years ago. In fact, it is known as "the oldest store in Kappabashi" that sells a variety of lacquerware. It's also a great place to buy souvenirs, such as chopsticks or spoons in beautiful lacquer.
