Hakkoda Ropeway
Hakkoda Ropeway runs between Sanroku Station and Sancho-koen Station located in Mt.Hakkoda Renpo Tamoyachi with a 650-meter vertical drop in 10 minutes. Since you can look out not only at the mountain of Hakkoda, but also Aomori city, Mutsu Bay, Tsugaru Peninsula, Shimokita Peninsula and Mt. Iwaki, Sancho-koen Station is famous as one of the best spots for a stunning vista.

Hakkoda-Oodake
Mt. Hakkoda-Oodake is at a height of 1,585 meters above sea level and the highest peak in Hakkoda Mountains. This is the most popular mountain in Hakkoda Mountains and there are by far the most number of the climbers. Generally, we call the mountain Hakkoda-Oodake to distinguish it from Takada-Oodake which is at a height of 1,552 meters above sea level. There is a conical-shaped crater and there is also a small shrine made with the stone of Hakkoda Shrine on top of the mountain.

Yukasu Onsen
Yukasu Onsen is a pedigree hot spring which has a history of over 300 years. The especially popular “Sennin Buro,” which literally means bath for a thousand people, covers an area of 291 square meters and is made with Hiba tree (Thujopsis), is a bath for both men and women. But there is a time designated only for women and separated bathing besides “Sennin buro,” so you can feel safe taking a bath.

Hakkoda Gold Line is an important road which runs between the southern part of Aomori prefecture and Tsugaru region. During the quarter of the year, the road is covered with snow. Therefore, they close the road around December and start snow removal at the end of March eventually reopening the road in April. The walking event “Yuki no Kairo” (corridor of snow) held for a limited time at the end of March is a seasonal event of spring in the Tsugaru region.
