Expressways can be used unlimited! The service meets various travelers’ needs.

NEXCO-West, which manages and operates expressways in West Japan, will sell an excursion-type discount expressway toll plan “San’in-Setouchi-Shikoku Expressway Pass” from March 25. You can enter and exit at all interchanges of expressways (some sections are excluded) in the following areas: Setouchi around Hiroshima which is popular as a sightseeing area and neighboring areas called San’in region and Shikoku region. NEXCO-West planned this service because the number of foreign tourists who use a rental car has been increasing. The service price start from 6,000 yen for three consecutive days, and there are other plans with 7,000 yen for four days, 8,000 yen for five days, and so on up to ten days. (Limited to standard-sized rental cars using ETC).

The target areas for this plan: Setouch, San’in and Shikoku are full of attractive sightseeing spots. You can visit more sightseeing spots with a rental car than trains. ◆Itsukushima Shrine (Hiroshima), Setouchi region It is a world heritage characterized by the vivid red O-torii which stands majestically in the sea. The view of Miyajima - full of nature which harmonizes with the calm Seto Inland Sea - is regarded as one of the most beautiful scenic views in Japan.
The Takeda Castle Ruins (Hyogo) The Takeda Castle Ruins is famous for a mysterious sea of clouds and is known as the “castle floating in the sky.” The fantastic landscape can be seen due to fog on fine mornings from autumn to winter.
Kintai Bridge (Yamaguchi) It is a wooden arch bridge built in 1673. This shape was designed not to be destroyed by the flooding of the river.
◆Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine (Shimane), San’in region It is one of the greatest power spots where gods dwell in Japan. Two million worshippers from home and abroad visit here in one year, and it is lively with many people every day.

Torroti Sand Dunes (Shimane) This is the largest sand dune area in Japan, which is 2.4 kilometers from north to south and 16 kilometers from east to west. Sand patterns on the dunes created by the wind from the Japan Sea and the sand are beautiful like artworks. You can enjoy a dune tour on the back of a camel trained for sightseeing and try paragliding.

Iyadani Gorge (Tokushima) Iyadani Gorge has a 20-km-long cliff offering a spacious and powerful view. Especially in autumn, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the gorge as the leaves of trees start turning yellow, red or orange covering the stony cliffs.

This discount service is provided in accordance with “San’in-Setouchi-Shikoku Drive Campaign” operated by local governments and rent-a-car companies in the areas. Multilingual (English, Chinese and Korean) road maps with road trip routes planned for visiting recommended sightseeing spots and coupons for purchasers of this discount toll will be issued.
