Ikaho Onsen is one of the most famous hot springs in Gunma along with Kusatsu Onsen. Ikeya is a popular restaurant specialized in handmade soba (buckwheat noodles), situated in the onsen town. Not only local fans but also those from far away come here to enjoy special soba. The owner who manages the restaurant was acknowledged as a lacquer master by the governor of Gunma and the tableware he made and used here has been highly praised. Its popular dish is “Sanshoku (three colors) soba” (1,080 yen), three kinds of soba made with different ingredients, including sarashina soba made with white buckwheat flour called “Sarashina”, inaka soba, thick black noodles made with buckwheat flour milled together with its chaff, soba made with seasonal ingredients such as green tea and yuzu (citrus).

From Sibukawa Station on the JR Joetsu Line or the Agatsuma Line, take a Kanetsu Kotsu bus bound for Ikaho Onsen to Miharashishita Stop and a five-minute walk from the stop.
