STOCK+

(Source : )
At STOCK+, Senjafuda is a very popular item. Senjafuda was used as a name card in Edo (old name of Tokyo). The store is across the street from Kabuki-za, so it's in a convenient location for foreign visitors. Senjafuda was originally a wood panel engraved with a person's name, and then hung at a shrine. However, in the old days, quarrelsome Edokko (a person born and raised in Tokyo) didn't want to give their names when they took part in a festival fight, so they started hanging these tags from their necks. The tag came to be known as Kenka fuda (fighting tag). Now, they are used like an accessory such as necklaces or putting them on bags.
