Kobe Oji Zoo is a huge zoo situated inside Oji Park in Nada area in Kobe. Inside the 80,618-square-meter large territory, there are approx. 130 species of 800 animals, including Giant Panda Bears and Koalas. It is also known as one of the three biggest zoos in the Kansai area. Opened in 1928, this old zoo also contains, besides zoo, a museum of animals and an amusement park. In addition, you can also see a mansion that used to be a residence of foreigners. It is a great touristic spot to visit.

The greatest thing about Oji Zoo is that you can see rare giant panda bears and koalas at the same place. There are many zoos in Japan that raise one of these animals, yet this zoo is the only one who raise them both.
