Awaji Yumebutai

Awaji Yumebutai is a resort facility in Awaji city, Hyogo. The extensive premises has a number of buildings designed by world famous architect, Tadao Ando, along with a group of 100 flower beds called “Hyakudan-en,” and “the Plants Museum of Miracle Planet” where you can see around 3000 kinds of plants from all over the world. There are also various facilities including an international conference center, a hotel, parks and shops. It is a great spot to spend some relaxing time enjoying seasonal flowers.

Steps of Beautiful Flowers: Hyakudan-en

You can see Hyakudan-en (hundred steps of gardens), the steps of flower beds on the slope of the hill in Awaji Yumebutai. Many kinds of chrysanthemum plants are planted in 100 flower beds and mesmerize the visitors. You can’t miss this art made by flowers.

Japan’s Largest Indoor Botanical Garden: Plants Museum of Miracle Planet

The Plants Museum of Miracle Planet is Japan’s largest indoor botanical garden. There are as many as 3000 kinds of plants in the facility. They also have various events from time to time. They take advantage of the indoor facility to grow many rare flowers. (Admission fee: 600 yen)

Shell Garden and Fountain

There are many pools that keeps flowing water in Awaji Yumebutai. The bottom of these pools are lined with 1 million scallop seashells. All the seashells were supposed to be just disposed at the fishery processing plant. They were wisely recycled to create a beautiful scenery.

Akashi Kaikyo National Government Park is a park full of nature in Awaji Island, Hyogo. The large area of the park has flower beds that have seasonal flowers such as tulips and hydrangeas, as well as playground equipment and an observation terrace to see the ocean. Anyone from children to adults will enjoy this park.
