Aqua Marine Fukushima

(Source : Roan inishブログ)
A rare current rip-themed aquarium with an eye-catchy appearance of a remarkable glass whale. Although it suffered severe damages during the great earthquake, it impressively recovered. It attracts attention as the only place in the world where swirling pacific saury (sanma) can be seen. It accurately reproduces the ecosystem of the natural ocean, so visitors feel like they are immersed into the ocean just by walking around. There are various activities for the whole family, such as a beach where you can enter barefoot and interact with marine life.

"Current Rip Ocean" With a Rare Triangular Tunnel

The kuroshio current and the oyashio current meet in Fukushima after traveling for thousands of kilometers from the south and north of the archipelago of Japan. The two aquariums of kuroshio and oyashio have been made to reproduce this current rip. This can be seen from inside the triangular tunnel. The fish have different characteristics, like the fish of kuroshio swimming more powerfully due to the strong current.

Impactful Swirling of Fish

Aqua Marine Fukushima, where studies of the pacific saury are conducted, is a great place to see fish like the pacific saury and sardines swirling in schools. You will be fascinated by the sight of them shimmering in silver as they are disguised as a big fish.

Sushi Restaurant in Front of Fish Tank

In many aquariums you can eat sushi, but there are not that many sushi restaurants that are in front of an aquarium fish tank. Once the chef prepares your favorite sushi, take it to eat in the dining area, which is in front of the fish tank.
